Mar 21 2010 · JB weld is good and permanent for practical but not legal purposes. I believe that the legal description is "a penetrating weld." A single spot is OK but it must visibly penetrate both of the pieces that it joins. Also if you were to blind pin the part and then weld the visible end of the pin to the break it would be OK.

With a jeweler s screwdriver 1mm wide I was able to remove the JB Weld from the well around the button as easily as modeling clay. I doubt that would have worked with another adhesive.
